Merlee Steele-Rodway is an Independent Registered Nurse Educator and Consultant with extensive experiences in Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) and Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR). Merlee has a life-long passion for sharing her knowledge of IPAC and MDR National Standards to promote safe patient care. She is a regular presenter at provincial, national, and international conferences. She was a Regional Director for IPAC and MDR at Eastern Health in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador (NL).
Merlee is a founding member of several associations including the Canadian Association for Medical Device Reprocessing (CAMDR) of which she is Past President. She serves on several Provincial and National Boards and Associations. Merlee is Co-Chair of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Technical Committee for Sterilization and Medical Device Reprocessing and is a co-developer of the only Canadian Certification for Medical Device Reprocessing Technicians.
Merlee is a member of several National IPAC and MDR Online Education Course Advisory Committees. She was a co-developer of the curriculum for Academy Canada’s first MDR Technician Course in NL. Merlee has received several awards during her nursing career, her most recent award being chosen as the 3M 2019 Champion of Infection Prevention and Control.
