Barbara Bolding is a Registered Nurse who has worked in the areas of the OR, Medical Device Reprocessing and Clinical Education, for more than 40 years. She is a graduate of nursing programs at BCIT and the University of British Columbia, and holds an MBA from Simon Fraser University. Barbara developed the original Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Programme at Vancouver Community College. She wrote both editions of the VCC MDRT Theory Modules, and continues to work with the College to revise and update the program curriculum.

For more than 25 years she was closely involved with medical device reprocessing at CSA including the development of reprocessing standards (Z314-18, and SPE 1112), the MDRT certification program, and the on-line Medical Device Reprocessing Comprehensive Review used for exam preparation. She was also a member of the expert group in BC that revised and updated the provincial Medical Device Reprocessing Requirements document for the Ministry of Health. Currently, she provides MDR consulting services to community based surgical centres in BC.
