The main function of a quality management system is to establish consistency and control of the required processes and documentation to meet client/patient and regulatory requirements. A quality management system gives assurance that the department’s policies, standard operating procedures, and processes are in compliance with Canadian standards and that its products and services will provide the highest possible degree of safety and quality to the patients and staff.

Objective:
To provide a review of the key components of a quality management system and the required processes and documentation required to be in compliance with CSA standards and regulatory requirements.
